Best Buddies Website Launch

On 25 November 2008, the Honorable Ms Carmel Tebbutt launched the new Best Buddies Australia Website.

While being graciously hosted by the Deputy Premier and NSW Government, our MC for the evening was none other than Best Buddies Chairman, Mr Andrew Buchanan. Andrew welcomed all guess and provided both a humorous and insightful introduction to the evening.

Best Buddies International Director Alex Hernandez-Dessauer soon followed detailing some of the challenges of being a small not for profit while also congratulating our volunteers for all the hard work and outcomes achieved.

The website itself was introduced and demonstrated by buddy pairs Michael and Joshua and Hannah and Maeve. Not only did they highlight the ease of use and the many features of the website, they also managed to introduce their trademark humor into the event. ('Who's wearing high heels?')

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the Deputy Premier. Ms Tebbutt highlighted the true value of Best Buddies and the vital role Best Buddies plays in furthering the cause for social inclusion.

The icing on the cake was in welcoming Best Buddies Australia's first Ambassador Deborah Hutton who not only looked glamorous, putting our Chairman to shame,  but was warm and welcoming whilst mingling with our guests.
