On Friday 12 September, Best Buddies Kellyville held an Olympic afternoon for the Buddies and their Peers.
Nine ‘nations’ competed in events designed to bring out the Olympic spirit. These included a hotly contested egg and spoon race, a grab-the-ball hula-hoop face off and a modified form of tag. Competition was fierce with each nation actively trying to win each event.
The hot September sun made the day an overwhelming success, with each nation taking home a medal. During the closing ceremony, it was noted that everyone had a great afternoon and actively participated on the field of play. It was also noted that each participant displayed great 'sportsperson ship'.
A big congratulations needs to be said to Kellyville and the Best Buddies Team there. Also a big congratulations needs to be said to Clancy Childs who organised a fantastic event.
