Last night Best Buddies Australia won the 2009 City of Sydney Business Award for Disability Inclusiveness. The award was accepted by Buddy Director Hannah Croaker and Board member Michael Bartels, both of whom have an intellectual disability.

Blackwattle Diversity Day

On Wednesday 25th March Sydney Secondary College-Blackwattle Campus Buddies ran a stall at their school's Diversity Day celebrations selling tattoos to raise funds for their chapter. The tattoos proved to be very popular with many students buying more than one. The team also ran a 'Guess the number of easter eggs' competition.

BBA Facing Uncertain Future

After operating for 4 years and the participation of over 220 volunteers in 2008, BBA is struggling to secure the necessary funds to continue operating in 2009.






Annual Luna Park Day

On 12 December 2008, Best Buddies Australia held its Annual Luna Park Day. Despite rather bleak conditions (we should have worn flippers), everyone had a great time. Supported by United Way Sydney and the Summer Interns from Freehills, we were also joined by Best Buddies Ambassador Deborah Hutton. Thanks to everyone to took part, have a great Xmas and safe New Year.

Sometimes events come along that are truely great. Such was the Best Buddies Australia Web Site Launch. Hosted by the Deputy Premier Ms Carmel Tebbutt, the night was a huge success. On the night, we were treated to a first class presentation of the web site by Buddy Pairs Hanna & Maeve and Michael & Joshua. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our first Ambassador, Ms Deborah Hutton.

In October, Buddy Pairs from the Doncaster Secondary College and Heatherwood School Chapter in Melbourne ventured into the CBD to take in the World Festival of Magic on its local tour.
