Fundraising at Kellyville

Kellyville Chapter in Sydney has run some highly successful fundraisers, and other chapters may find their achievements inspiring.

In 2007 they began fundraising with a Cadbury Chocolate Fundraising event. They ordered about 50 boxes of chocolates, and sold them all, earning $24 for each box. This year, feeling more ambitious, they ordered 70 boxes in first term. After great success, they ordered an additional 120 boxes in term 2, and again sold them all! Looking back, they reckon they could easily have sold another 30-80 boxes.

This year Kellyville also had a whole school sausage sizzle. They purchased 600 sausages and 660 cans of drink. They advertised the sausage sizzle for two weeks prior to the event, and on the day they made a profit of nearly $1000! This very resourceful chapter had goods left, which they then used for their Best Buddies Olympics afternoon (see article in this newsletter).

Next year they are looking at selling Entertainment Books in term 1 and then having another sausage sizzle and chocolate drive.

Congratulations Kellyville on all your hard work so far, and good luck with next year’s fundraising plans. Thanks to Clancy Childs – Special Education Advisor for sharing your tips!
