A small group of emerging young leaders participating in the Best Buddies Australia (BBA) program met with BAA staff for a 'welcome to 2010 lunch' in the last week of the summer holidays. Young people from year 8 through to year 10 holding key decision making roles within their Best Buddies groups at Kellyville High School, Fairvale High School and Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus attended the informal lunch at VIVO Cafe on George St in the city (pictured right).

It was a chance to exchange ideas and brainstorm.Topics of discussion around the table ranged from what people did with their buddies over the holidays, to what the students wanted to achieve with BBA in Term 1, to how to hold a successful fundraising event, to how much food there was to eat...and more! 

Each person developed a clear idea of the one main activity that they wanted to initiate with their group in the first term of 2010. Every idea was very different, but each and every one will lead to greater social inclusion through the power of friendships.
