On Friday 5th March Kellyville High School Held a Best Buddies Pizza Fun Day where all of the
students in the Best Buddies program ordered pizzas and got to spend the afternoon with their buddies.
Every Friday afternoon all of the students in the Support unit do a different activity. These activities are Sport, Craft, Computers, Games and Gardening. On this day after we had lunch the peer buddies joined in these activities with their buddies, however, we got hit with rain, so the Sport and the Gardening group could not go on. So the Craft group did their sewing, the computer people went on the computer and everyone else played Board games.
Twister was one of the favourite games on the day as we had regular Twister and Twister Dance moves. A few people were really good at playing Twister, and we had the radio going and were listening to music and dancing and having fun. There was also Peer Buddy training going on at the same time for new Peer Buddies to join the program, run by Natalie from Best Buddies Australia.
Everybody was having fun with their buddies playing games and having fun, and those who didn’t have buddies or their buddy was doing the peer buddy training got together and were playing together. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon and we hope that we can have another one soon!
