Everyone gathered at VIVO Cafe on George St from 6pm where the owner Angela had put on a veritable feast of delicious cakes, slices, ices, pies and soft drinks! Buddy pairs from Marrickville High School, Fairvale High School, Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt and Balmain campuses attended, along with recent school leavers Josh and Michael who hiked in from out Kellyville-way and ex-Buddy Director Hannah. They were joined by family members, corporate supporters and friends of Best Buddies Australia who came from as far away as past Gosford to attend!
After making a sizeable dent in the food mountain at VIVO the results of the raffle were announced. The prize up for grabs was a Double Gold Movie Pass donated by Event Cinemas....and the winner the second (and final!) time was Buddy Stephanos from Fairvale. The first time BBA Exec Director Mark Trevaskis won...but a redraw was called for!
Then it was time to walk up the road to the cinema where 3D glasses were donned, we collected stragglers and the movie began.
And it did live up to the hype?
Well, that would be giving it away...suffice to say that a number of our buddies had already seen the film once in the days prior, but were keen to see it again!!
