Ambassadors

There are lots of people who assist Best Buddies Australia in spreading the word about social inclusion, what we hope to achieve and what we can do together.

Our Best Buddies Ambassadors are a group of inspirational people who believe that people with intellectual disabilities should be connected, included, valued and respected.

Best Buddies would like to thank these wonderful people for all their support and assistance.

Deborah Hutton

Best Buddies Australia welcomed Deborah as our first Ambassador in 2008. Since then Deborah has represented, and supported Best Buddies at numerous events including Best Buddies Day, BBA Leadership Conference and our Inaugural Trivia Night.

Deborah has been a wonderful support. Always willing to give her time, always happy to engage with our Buddies and always willing to push for the inclusion of those with an intellectual disability.

"Since becoming Best Buddies first Ambassador in 2007 I have had many days and moments where I feel truely privileged to be a part of this amazing group of people.  BBA has grown from strength to strength with many more schools involved and helping so many more kids. To see some of these friendships evolve over the years makes your heart melt and your face smile.

Elka Whalan

Best Buddies Australia welcomed Elka to Best Buddies during 2011. Elka attended the Best Buddies Leadership Conference as Key Note Speaker and has never looked back.

Best Buddies is looking forward to having Elka on board and helping out at the exciting events planned for 2012 and beyond.

“It's a true blessing to be involved with Best Buddies and learn about what a wonderful sincere, and genuine organisation BBA is all about. More than that is to watch the young people interact with the great events that are put on. To be apart of it and see the joy it brings these children. To see their faces light up is the ultimate...” Elka Whalan (January 2012)
