We use all funds raised to help us deliver critical services to young people and adults who have an intellectual disability.
The primary method of service delivery for Best Buddies is through the employment of Program Managers.
Being a Program Managers is a tough job. Not only do you need to recruit, assess, train and support all Buddy Pairs, but you often have to navigate complex challenges such as School time tables, families and services, changing circumstances and difficult event plans. This said, it's also a great job as Program Managers are critical in the building of friendships and the changing of lives.
While each Program Manager generally does similar tasks, each Program has different goals.
A Full Time High Schools Program Manager can manage up to 15 High Schools. This means they are visiting and supporting 15 different High Schools on a regular basis, providing training to teachers, young people and parents. They are organising events, booking Chapter meetings and helping Buddy Pairs meet on a regular basis.
A Full Time Citizen's Program Manager can manage up to 50 Buddy Pairs. This means they are not only recruiting and assessing people with and without intellectual idsabilities, but also providing high quality training and support.
Like most other not-for-profit organisations we have a management team and other administration costs that are unavoidable. These include rent, power bills, support for our IT, our accountant and general office costs. While we try and keep these to a minimum, the reality is that all businesses have these costs.
Donations made to Best Buddies help us deliver high quality outcomes to young people and adults.
